Embroidery is the ideal technique for logos of modest size, where you want the beauty of the stitching and thread work to show. It can be stitched in many colours and carries a classic, handcrafted feel that screen printing cannot match. Its great advantage is durability — far tougher than silk screen or heat transfer — and it can even be ironed directly without damage. The trade-off is that larger designs take longer to stitch and cost more than screen printing.

Strengths Limitations
A distinctive tactile texture Not suited to logos with very small text or fine detail
Multiple colours in a single stitching run Large embroidered logos take more time and cost more
Can be stitched onto any type of fabric
Withstands washing and direct ironing
Embroidery Techniques

Standard Logo Embroidery

This is the everyday embroidery you see on garments of all kinds. The stitched surface has a subtle raised texture that gives the design more depth than screen printing. It is a popular choice because it is simple, fast, works in many colours, and is highly durable — perfect for company logos, team logos and names on polo shirts, jackets, dress shirts, workshop shirts, lab coats, suits and any other garment you have in mind.

3D Puff (Foam-Backed) Embroidery

Foam-backed puff embroidery is used when lettering needs to stand out boldly. It is most popular for logos on caps, and for fashion-forward T-shirts and jackets. The technique can be combined with standard embroidery, and the finished surface rises noticeably above the fabric — ideal for logos placed on the outside of a product.

Digital Embroidery

This technique blends embroidery with sublimation printing, making it ideal for intricate designs with rich colour gradients. It can be done two ways. In the first, the logo is printed onto a separate piece of fabric and then edge-stitched onto your garment, giving a patch-like finish. In the second, the area is first laid down with white embroidery thread and then sublimation-printed over the stitching. Digital embroidery gives colours that hold up far better than screen printing, and it works on T-shirts, polo shirts, caps, jackets, lab coats and more.
